                           ABOUT THE PROJECT 

Violence, Mental Health & Peer Pressure.

After conducting a year long survey. These are the daily realities for thousands of youth across Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. But now, the crisis is deepening. We have designed 3 Programs that address these issues that young people are facing. 

Budget Cuts

The immediate and urgent elimination of after-school programs, mentorship initiatives, and enrichment services is creating a crisis for our communities. With funding cuts leaving families with no-cost options, students are left with nowhere to go after school. This sudden disappearance of safe havens and growth opportunities is a critical loss that demands immediate action to ensure our youth have the support they need to thrive.

What The Co-op Project is Doing

The DMV Project is a bold initiative designed to uplift middle and high school students in Baltimore, Alexandria, Northern Virginia, and Washington D.C. Through mentorship, creative expression, and entrepreneurship, we help youth build confidence, emotional intelligence, and leadership skills that last a lifetime.

We’re currently raising funds to launch one full program in each of these four communities and our goal is to offer them completely free to local schools and community centers. By covering all costs upfront, we eliminate financial barriers and ensure that every student has access to transformative experiences, regardless of zip code or budget constraints.

Why we Need You

We’re raising $10,000 per location to fund:

  • 4 months of programming for 30 students
  • Professional instructors and mentors
  • Materials, meals, and transportation
  • Safe, supportive learning environments
  • Insurance
  • Software and Certifications
  • Transportation and Guest Speakers
